City calarca




Every year between the months of June and July, the inhabitants of a small, but picturesque town Calarca, located in the Colombian region of Quindio (Coffee Cultural Landscape), decorate the streets, houses and balconies with elements of their culture . In this way, prepare for a celebration replete with applause, laughter and music, whose climax is Yipao Parade and Contest. 

Through this event a tribute to the icon of the region is provided, the Willys Jeep, the performance in the Colombian coffee mountains where, over the years, has been transporting people, coffee, products and objects.


The Willys Jeep helped the Colombian peasant in their daily fight against the mountain.
The Jeep Willys is a vehicle of great power, camper type, manufactured in the United States, for the war. The Willys vehicles are light, made to traverse uncovered fields, unpaved, rocky mountains go, packed desert dunes and swamp forests. After World War II and the Korean War, Americans flooded with these cars began to sell them for a very affordable price to developing countries, including in Colombia. 

He made the roads penetrated the jungle, forged the regional economy, and agricultural products transported men who produced and thus became one of the most authentic expressions of the coffee landscape and folklore.

The Archaeological Park of San Agustín, located in the department of Huila, is the only place known for the five hundred stunning statues carved in stone according to the mythology of the indigenous sculptors world. 

Most of the statues formed part of the funeral trappings of the ancient inhabitants of this region and was associated with funeral rites, the spiritual power of the dead and the supernatural world. 

The monumental statues and tombstones reflected today, a complex system of thought of these unknown cultures who understood and explained the world in their own way, carving and mystery immortalized in stone.

Prado Dam is located in the department of Tolima about 230 km from Bogota. It is an excellent weekend trip to enjoy this place that is very beautiful, especially the practice of desportes recreation, fishing, hiking and horseback riding. 

The landscapes of the lake are great, mountains all around, special warm lagoon waters for water sports. The lake maintains an average temperature of 27 degrees.
Prado Dam is made by Prado and Cunday rivers and is situated on the slopes of the Eastern Cordillera. 

One of the most amazing is that caracter'siticas is included among rocky cliffs, is an ideal place for water sports and sport fishing. 

It has a good supply of restaurants and accommodation sites within which lies a small hotel at the foot of the mountain.

City Guatavita




Guatavita, with which geographical sacred lake and legally belongs to the municipality of Sesquilé was the ceremonial site where the Indians worshiped Chie, the goddess of water, through lavish ceremonies that originated the legend of El Dorado, according to which Muisca chief arrived accompanied by four priests in a wooden raft, before diving impregnated loaded with gold and treasures collected from the community in order to leave them in the water as an offering and a symbol of worship.
