City calarca




Every year between the months of June and July, the inhabitants of a small, but picturesque town Calarca, located in the Colombian region of Quindio (Coffee Cultural Landscape), decorate the streets, houses and balconies with elements of their culture . In this way, prepare for a celebration replete with applause, laughter and music, whose climax is Yipao Parade and Contest. 

Through this event a tribute to the icon of the region is provided, the Willys Jeep, the performance in the Colombian coffee mountains where, over the years, has been transporting people, coffee, products and objects.

The Jeep Willys is a vehicle of great power, camper type, manufactured in the United States, for the war. The Willys vehicles are light, made to traverse uncovered fields, unpaved, rocky mountains go, packed desert dunes and swamp forests.
