The Archaeological Park of San Agustín, located in the department of Huila, is the only place known for the five hundred stunning statues carved in stone according to the mythology of the indigenous sculptors world.

Most of the statues formed part of the funeral trappings of the ancient inhabitants of this region and was associated with funeral rites, the spiritual power of the dead and the supernatural world.

The monumental statues and tombstones reflected today, a complex system of thought of these unknown cultures who understood and explained the world in their own way, carving and mystery immortalized in stone.
